150 positive COVID-19 cases in Mzansi

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has confirmed the spike in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in South Africa.

“As of 19 March, there are 34 new COVID19 cases bringing the total to 150 people, the majority of whom are based in Gauteng, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces respectively. Of the 34 newly confirmed COVID19 cases, the majority are imported and two are locally transmitted,” said the institution in a statement.

Fortunately, no one has died yet in the country. The Health Department has confirmed that treatment of positive patients is going well.
