Bafana beat Botswana in Cosafa clash

Bafana Bafana came back from a goal down to beat Botswana 2-1 in the COSAFA Cup at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Saturday, July 8.

The hosts, led by coach Morena Ramoreboli, looked in trouble when they went a goal behind just past the hour mark from Botswana’s Thatayaone Kgamanyane.

The game turned when Iqraam Rayners levelled matters from the penalty spot.

Shaune Mogaila scored the second to give the six-time champions the victory and keep their semifinal hopes alive.

Bafana top the group with four points and will meet Eswatini next.

With only the top team in each pool qualifying automatically for the semifinals along with the best-placed runner-up, so there is little margin for error left for the South Africans.
