On Monday morning, February 15, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit Officers patrolling Nigel arrested a pair in possession of narcotics.

According to police, a male and female aged 26 and 50-year old respectively, were found idling on Springbok road. When officers searched the suspicious duo, they uncovered 33 half and full mandrax tablets valued at R1800.

The suspects are facing charges of ‘possession and possible dealing in illicit substances were sent to the Nigel police station.

“The imprisoned duo, is expected to appear at the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.
