Department of Human Settlements Opens Applications for 2026 Scholarships

The Department of Human Settlements called on prospective students to apply for its 2026 Scholarship Programme, inviting qualifying young people to apply for funding in key built-environment and planning-related fields.

The scholarship opportunity is aimed at prospective students who wish to pursue studies in areas critical to human settlements development and infrastructure planning.

Fields of study covered by the programme include Architecture and Architectural Technology, Construction Management and Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Town and Regional Planning or Urban and Rural Studies, as well as Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying and Building Surveying.

According to the department, the scholarship seeks to support and develop skilled professionals who will contribute to sustainable human settlements and improved service delivery across the country.

Interested applicants are required to download the official application form from the Department of Human Settlements website. Completed application forms must be emailed to scholarships2026@dhs.gov.za before the closing date of 7 January 2026.
