First loadshedding of 2024 begins today
South Africa’s festive mood has been darkened by the announcement of loadshedding for the first week of the new year.
Eskom has released a statement confirming that Stage 2 loadshedding will begin on Tuesday, January 2 from 5am-4pm followed by Stage 3 until Wednesday (January 3).
“The pattern of Stage 2 in the morning and Stage 3 in the evening will be repeated daily until further notice,” the national power utility posted.
Loadshedding has yet again become a trending topic in most social media feeds countrywide as more people learn of the news.
In December, Eskom suspended the scheduled power cuts for three consecutive weeks.
