In the bustling township of Cosmo City, dozens of elderly residents and children lined up on a Saturday morning for something many had never experienced before—a free comprehensive eye examination. 

Behind this life-changing initiative was Bonny Mabokela, a 41-year-old software analyst from Rustenburg who has turned her passion for community service into a movement of hope.

As one of the finalists for Mrs Bold 2025, Mabokela represents more than just beauty and poise. She embodies what the pageant calls “Beauty that Inspires”—women who are making meaningful contributions to their communities while celebrating shared humanity over differences.

A Journey Rooted in Service

Mabokela’s commitment to giving back stems from her upbringing in Rustenburg, where she learned the values of resilience, compassion, and community spirit. While her professional life revolves around data and digital systems as a software analyst, her heart beats for uplifting those around her.

“Giving back has always been close to my heart,” Mabokela explains. “Mrs Bold is more than just a pageant; it is a life-changing experience that embraces community, culture, and causes.”

One of her recent initiatives perfectly illustrates this philosophy. Mabokela organized a donation drive to a local children’s home, providing shoes and gently used clothing to young residents.

Her wish list includes school supplies and clothing for underprivileged children, expanded access to healthcare services like eye testing and screenings, training programs for youth and women in digital skills and entrepreneurship, and wellness and empowerment workshops in underserved communities.

“Every contribution—big or small—goes directly into creating meaningful, measurable change,” she emphasizes. “Together, we can uplift lives, restore dignity, and build a better future for all.”
