Gauteng Traffic Wardens ready to hit the road

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi Leads Pass-Out Parade for Military Veterans Joining Fight Against Crime

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi presided over the pass-out parade of military veterans who have officially joined the Gauteng Traffic Wardens (GTWs) at the Dunnotter Military Base in Nigel.

These military veterans, now repurposed into traffic wardens, will play a crucial role in enhancing the province’s fight against crime.

The initiative forms part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s broader strategy to combat crime, corruption, lawlessness, and vandalism.

In June, more than 750 Military Veterans comprising the 4th cohort to be trained as GTWs arrived at the 3 South African Infantry Battalion in Kimberley.

The military veterans are expected to act as “force multipliers,” assisting law enforcement agencies in responding swiftly and effectively to criminal activities.

The event at the Dunnotter Military Base is part of a series of pass-out parades across the province honoring the veterans who have committed to this vital role.

These trained individuals are now an integral part of Gauteng’s law enforcement efforts, ensuring that the province is better equipped to tackle crime and protect its citizens.

This deployment of military veterans reflects the provincial government’s dedication to strengthening its crime-fighting capabilities while also providing meaningful roles for veterans in service to their communities.

Premier Lesufi praised the veterans for their commitment and readiness to help safeguard Gauteng’s neighborhoods.

These new Gauteng Traffic Wardens will soon be deployed across the province, contributing to the collective effort to create a safer environment for all residents.
