The Johannesburg Magistrate Court sentenced two foreign nationals after their involvement in a house robbery two years ago.
Ndlovu, a 42 year old Zimbabwean was sentenced to 15 years in prison and Bila Mola (26) from Mozambique to 15 years by the judge on Tuesday, December 14.
According to police, the suspects robbed a house at Eikenhof on the 22nd of December 2019 during the midnight hours.
“A 56 year old male Tuck shop owner was sleeping in his shack when he was woken up by the accused. The stab him twice in the upper body with an unknown object. They took two thousand Rands before they fled the scene. They left behind red bolt cutter,” said Captain Xoli Mbele.
one of the community members help the police to apprehend the owner of the bolt cutter and his co-accused on the same day.
The successful conviction was made possible by the diligent detective work by Investigating Officer Warrant Officer Mandlenkosi Zulu of Johannesburg Central Trio Detectives.
“We hope this sentence will scare away would-be offenders from committing the same crime,” said Captain Mbele.
