Lesedi Municipality host summit to attract investors

The Lesedi Local Muncipality is hosting the Local Economic Development Investment Summit, set to take place on June 29 at Heidelberg Town Hall.

The event is meant to offer a platform for ideas and innovative solutions, all meant to build a vibrant economy and ensure local investments within Lesedi Municipality.

Stakeholders in the business sector, tourism and investor-related services are encouraged to attend and join the executive mayor Mluleki Nkosi and his members of the Mayoral Committee for engagements and sharing insights into growing the local economy.

Big plans in store in the Lesedi area

The Gauteng Provincial Government has recently passed the Township Economy Development Act, which will pave the way for municipalities like Lesedi to create sustainable township economies via funding, infrastructure and investments.

The new Act provides government an enabling framework that allows the state and its contractors to spend a percentage of their procurement on township enterprises.

Member of the Executive Committee responsible for Economic Development, Parks Tau, has confirmed that Lesedi will have a Township Economic Zone.

This zone provides space for active economic activity, ensuring local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses to participate in the mainstream markets.
