Lesedi Municipality measures for 21 day lockdown


Lesedi Local Municipality executive mayor, Cllr Lerato Maloka has released measures the municipality will take during the 21 day national lockdown.

All municipality offices will be closed from March 26 at 16:15 until further notice. Other interventions include:

All essential services provided by the municipality will continue as normal. These include: Water, Electricity, Sanitation, Fire & Rescue Services, Traffic and Public Safety. Cemetery services will only be available on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 – 12:00. Payments for grave bookings must be made to the municipality’s bank account.


Payment for services

Lesedi residents are urged to use online method or go to the bank to make their account payments. Prepaid electricity customers must use retail outlets to make a purchase. Should the outlets become offline, the public is urged to contact Conlog call centre on 0861266564/0312681111.

No walk-ins allowed!

Lesedi Municipality has made its 24 hour customer call centre available for any enquiries from residents. No person will be allowed to walk-in to any of the municipal offices as lockdown will be strongly enforced. The Lesedi CCC number is 016-330-0400.

“The executive mayor pleads all residents to adhere to the stringent measures given be the president. The mayor puts emphasis on residents not to engage in panic buying as it is not a complete shutdown but a lockdown,” said the municipality in a statement.
