The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has expressed its disappointment after the leaking of the Mathematics paper two exam.
According to reports, the matric exam papers were circulated on instant messaging platforms like Whatsapp. It has been confirmed that candidates in Gauteng and Limpopo provinces were the first to receive the leaked papers in the early hours of Monday (November 16).
“The origins of the leak are not clear as yet,” confirmed the department in a statement.
The department also confirmed that an investigation team is currently looking into this matter to assess the extent of the leak.
“The Department will investigate this matter fully and thoroughly, and will utilize the mechanisms it has at its disposal which are the examination protocol to identify the learners that may have had access to the paper,” said DBE.
