Mzansi school sports champions off to Malawi

Government hosted a Farewell function on Wednesday, October 26, in support of the two school soccer teams that will represent South Africa at the 2022 African Schools Championships taking place in Lilongwe, Malawi from October 27 – November 1.

Edendale Technical High School, a girls’ soccer team from KwaZulu – Natal and Clapham High School, a boys’ team from Gauteng are the winners of the National School Sports Championships (NSSC) Summer games that were held in Bloemfontein, Free State back in March 2022.

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and Basic Education have since 2012 partnered as the custodians of the National School Sports Championships (NSSC) which has been positioned as the bedrock of sport development and the premier event in the South Africa school sport sector.

The continental tournament is hosted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) aimed at promoting school sports on the highest stage.
