Netball World Cup trophy tour begins in Sedibeng
Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Morakane Mosupyoe, joined by Executive Mayors of Sedibeng, Midvaal and Emfuleni, Cllrs. Lerato Maloka, Phillip Teixeria and Sipho Radebe respectfully, will receive the highly anticipated arrival of the Netball World Cup Trophy in Gauteng.
They will also be joined by the leadership of Sedibeng Netball Federation.
The prestigious trophy will start its tour of Gauteng in Sedibeng on May 30 where its people will be the first ones in the province to put their hands up, to welcome it into the golden province.
Held under the theme; “Taking Netball in Africa to a whole new level”, the tour will start in Meyerton (Midvaal) on an open bus across the streets of Sedibeng until its final stop in Sebokeng.
The route:
The tour will start from Sicelo Community Hall in Meyerton via De Deur Police Station through to TK Garage in Sebokeng Zone 6.
The procession will continue through Spar Supermarket in Zone 3; It will drive through the Skosana stop sign on Adams Road in Evaton; and onto Golden Highway and then Moshoeshoe Street, for its final stretch towards the Saul Tsotetsi Sport Centre in Sebokeng Zone 14 where a netball tournament will ensue.
