New grant payment dates for July

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has adjusted payment periods for social grants recipients to avoid congestion and to maintain social distancing at the payment outlets during payment dates.

Payment for older persons will be on the 3rd July 2020, to be followed on the 4th July 2020 by Persons with Disabilities.

Older Persons who are also receiving Child Support Grant and Foster Child Grant will be able to access the linked children grants on the same day.

All other children’s grants will be paid from the 06th July 2020.

Where the 3rd or the 5th day of the month falls on a weekend or public holiday the payment shall be moved forward to the next working day.

Beneficiaries are encouraged not to withdraw cash on the first day of payment.

“Once the money is paid in the account, it will remain in your card for the next three months. Your money will not be taken away if you withdraw later in the month when queues have reduced,” said the agency.

Social grants payment can be collected at SAPO outlets (Post Offices), merchants (shops) and ATMs.

“When collecting their social grant beneficiaries are requested to always keep to a safe social distance, wear a mask and continue to wash their hands,” said SASSA in a statement.
