Nigel to have electricity restored this weekend

The City Ekurhuleni has completed work to restore power to Nigel after the area suffered power supply outage due to theft and vandalism of electricity distribution pylons.

The pylons and some of the accessories were badly damaged during the incident and were not reusable.

The City’s technicians are currently on site testing and switching back customers, and all customers will be switched on by tomorrow morning.

“The current work entailed erecting a temporary structure to have at least one of the two circuits energised to carry 100% of the load,” said Ekurhuleni in a statement.
