Only four teams to compete in fan-powered football showdown

The countdown to the annual football fan-fare, the Carling Black Label Cup has begun.

The voting process has reached a feverish level with voting lines set to close on Sunday, October 2. Only four teams will be competing for the coveted trophy.

Kaizer Chiefs are currently leading the pack followed by their arch rivals Orlando Pirates, the third spot is occupied by Mamelodi sundowns. The fourth spot is closely contested but currently held by Swallows FC.

This year’s edition will see all 16 Premier League teams in participate in the voting process with four most voted teams being involved in one day tournament.

Tournament made for the fans

As with the previous spectacle, fans will also have a say in the team’s starting line-ups, team captain and substitutions for each of the four teams of the day.

The draw will pit the top two leading sides against one another, while the third-placed side will face the team with the fourth most votes.

To enter, football fans over the age of 18 can purchase a selected Carling Black Label beer and dial *120 *660 * unique code#, select their preferred clubs, and starting from the 3rd of October, their starting line up.

Following the announcement of the starting line ups, fans can vote for their captain and then the man of the match during the game. Entry is 20c per 20 second on USSD and free for Vodacom users.

Champion fans are invited to witness this highly anticipated fixture live by purchasing their match tickets from Ticketmaster or Computicket.

A ticket will give fans access to all matches of the day.
