State-owned bank, Postbank and the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) have called on remaining grant beneficiaries still holding their Gold Cards to switch to the new Postbank Black Cards.
As the 28 February 2025 deadline looms, SASSA and Postbank are intensifying efforts to inform social grant beneficiaries about the necessity of replacing their cards so that they can continue to receive their money.
“Failure to make the switch will result in beneficiaries being unable to access their grant payments, as the Gold Cards will be deactivated for all transactions, including cash withdrawals and balance inquiries,” the institutions stated in a joint statement.
