SASSA grant dates for October 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the payment schedule for the cycle of October 2024. 

Older Persons Grants will be paid from Wednesday, October 2. Old Age Grant beneficiaries receiving Child Support Grants and Foster Care Grants will also be able to access the linked children grants on the same day.

They will be followed by people living with Disabilities on Thursday, October 3 including grants linked to this account. All other grants will be paid from Friday, October 4.

“Beneficiaries have an option to open their bank accounts with a banking institution of their choice as this will assist them to take ownership of their funds and collection. SASSA/SAPO card can still be used as a debit card at ATMs and counters of different merchants such as SPAR, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, Cambridge, and others, “the agency stated.

Social grant beneficiaries are also reminded always to keep their card and PIN safe, and not to share their pin with anyone.
