The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) hereby wishes alert grant beneficiaries of the adjusted service delivery schedule in place to ensure compliance to the Adjusted Risk Level 4 in line with the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday, June 27.
Service across all SASSA offices will be provided as follows:
Mondays : Grants for Older Persons
Tuesdays: Disability and Care Dependency Grants
Wednesdays and Thursdays: Children’s grants (Child Support and Foster Care Grant)
Fridays: Appointments and overflow from the week
To further comply, SASSA will be providing services with reduced staff capacity as per regulations.
Skeleton staff available
Offices will be providing services with a bare minimum.
“This to further comply with the numbers that can be accommodated by individual facilities and compliance with social distancing,” said the agency.
SASSA will manage the numbers in the queue – if the numbers for a specific day for the designated grant do not reach the maximum number which can be attended to, applicants for other grant types will not be turned away, but be attended to.
Should the number of clients exceed the number that can be handled by officials, these beneficiaries will be provided with the next date.
The Agency will not be in a position to offer home visits, as the environment into which staff is sent to cannot be controlled.
Should there be requests for assistance in extreme cases, SASSA will assess their ability to provide services on an individual basis.
Staff and client protection and safety to be taken into account at all times.
