The executive mayor of Sedibeng District Municipality, Cllr Busi Modisakeng has joined in paying tribute to the late Professor Denis Theodore Goldberg.

Professor Goldberg, who lived in Hout Bay, Cape Town, passed away on 29 April at the age of 87.

“Prof Denis was and still remains a treasure of lessons on unity, Ubuntu, freedom, democracy and transformation for the world and South Africa, particularly to citizens of Sedibeng,” said the mayor.

Born in Cape Town in 1933, Goldberg grew up in an intellectual family and became acutely aware of national, as well as international politics at an early age. Read more on the the life and times of Goldberg here.

This was a celebration of his selfless dedication to the people of Sedibeng and the country.

“Prof Goldberg’s selfless services must continue inspiring all of us to relentlessly fight for justice, freedom, women and children empowerment during and post COVID-19.

He leaves us with a legacy and great vision to achieve more well-being for the people of our region. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Hamba Kahle, Seaparankwe Comrade Denis Goldberg,” said the mayor.
