South Africa Shines at the African FootGolf Open
FootGolf South Africa is proud to announce a series of historic achievements at the 2025 African FootGolf Open, the continent’s first officially sanctioned FIFG500 event held at the Elephant Hills Golf Course from 22-25 November 2025.
This was the qualifying tournament for the 2026 FIFG FootGolf World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico.
Kefilwe Mphake delivered an exceptional performance across two competitive rounds, securing Africa’s Women’s Champions title. Her victory stands as a major milestone for South Africa in this inaugural continental event.
South Africa further strengthened its continental standing with Vuyiswa Ntombela finishing in second place, completing a dominant 2-1 podium finish for the nation in the women’s category.
These outstanding individual results have ensured that South Africa’s Women’s team has officially qualified to compete at the 2026 FIFG FootGolf World Cup in Acapulco.
In addition to the women’s success, South Africa’s Senior Men’s team has also secured qualification, marking the country’s second team entry into the upcoming World Cup.
FootGolf South Africa proudly acknowledges Vincent Mabusela, who received the tournament’s Best Country Performance Award, recognising his consistency, composure, and technical excellence throughout the event.
In the Men’s team competition, Morocco delivered a strong performance to secure the continental victory, with South Africa finishing as runners-up in a competitive field that showcased Africa’s growing depth and talent.
The African FootGolf Open 2025 represented a defining moment for the sport on the continent. FootGolf South Africa commends all participating athletes and celebrates the continued growth of FootGolf across Africa under the framework of the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).
