Sports Development Program Makes Strong Start with Bootcamp
Following the November launch of an ambitious sports development initiative, the Tday Foundation’s Back to Sport Clinic BootCamp has marked an impressive beginning to the program’s implementation in Ratanda.
The Tday Foundation kicked off the new year with an energetic Back to Sport Clinic Boot Camp at Khanya Lesedi SOS, featuring renowned sports figures including legendary coach Disco Phadime among the trainers and facilitators.
Olympic medalist and Tday CEO Khotso Mokoena praised the dedication shown by participating coaches. “This spectacular program brings the community of Lesedi together through sports,” Mokoena remarked.
“These coaches have displayed immense passion and sportsmanship, taking up the task to learn and teach others. I have not met individuals such as these coaches in a long time, and I salute them.”
The boot camp represented a significant step toward the initiative’s goal of creating an inclusive sports community within the school.
By incorporating various sports activities into the regular curriculum, the program ensures all learners have access to athletic opportunities and physical wellness programs.

A key focus of the event was the hands-on training provided to coaches, who gained practical experience in group leadership and structured sports development.
This training is essential for sustaining the program’s long-term impact and nurturing future athletic talent.
The collaboration between Tday (The Development of Youth and Athletes), Vopak WeConnect, and Khanya Lesedi SOS continues to demonstrate how strategic partnerships can effectively support community development through sports. The success of this initial boot camp suggests a promising future for sports development in the Ratanda community.
The program’s early achievements align with its mission to unite the community through sports while creating sustainable pathways for youth development and athletic excellence.
