Three cop killers arrested in Duduza
On 1 Jul 2021 by MapepezaThree alleged cop murderers were arrested by the Hawks in Duduza on Wednesday (June 30).
The trio aged 28, 29, and 30 are expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrates Court, for their alleged involvement in the murder of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department Constable, Khanyelihle Hadebe (25).
“It is alleged that in March this year, the off-duty Constable Hadebe was greeted with gunshots by unknown suspects at the gate of the house in Tsakane when visiting a friend.
The suspects allegedly shot and wounded Hadebe, robbed him of his service pistol and cellphone then fled the scene. Constable Hadebe later succumbed to the gunshot wounds,” said the Hawks spokesperson, Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu.
Further investigation revealed that Hadebe’s cellphone was activated and operated in Duduza, Ekurhuleni and also in Limpopo province after it was reported stolen.
The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation in Germiston successfully traced the suspects and apprehended them in Duduza.
“The investigation team seized Hadebe’s cellphone and an unlicensed firearm with serial number filed off,” said the Captain Mulamu.
The suspects are facing charges of murder, robbery, possession of unlicensed and ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen cellphone
The Hawks confirm that the investigation continues.
