Police have launched an intensive manhunt following two fatal shootings that occurred on Tuesday night in the Radebe Section of Katlehong, City of Ekurhuleni.
According to Katlehong SAPS spokesperson Constable Sivenkosi Mtwa, the first incident was reported around 9:00 PM at Kgotso Street. “Police were called to a crime scene where they found a 44-year-old African male with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was declared dead by paramedics at the scene,” said Mtwa.
While authorities were still processing the first crime scene, they received reports of a second shooting. “Another incident was reported at 408 Mlangeni Street, where a 53-year-old African male was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He too was pronounced dead by paramedics,” Mtwa added.
Both victims have been identified by their families, and their bodies have been transferred to the Germiston government mortuary for post-mortem examinations.
“The motive behind these killings has not yet been established. Only after our investigations are complete will we be able to determine the reason behind these incidents,” explained Mtwa.
Police have opened two murder case dockets and are appealing to the public for assistance.
