Among them is Tsietsi Motleleng, a skilled violist, bass singer, and school choir conductor, whose passion for music has driven him to achieve remarkable milestones at a young age.
Tsietsi’s musical journey began at Diepkloof Hall, where he learned to play the violin. Over the past 13 years, he has honed his skills on the viola, captivating audiences with his soulful performances.
Not only has he played at various local gigs, but he also had the privilege of performing alongside the renowned Zonke Dikana at Carnival City, marking a significant accomplishment in his career.
In addition to his instrumental prowess, Tsietsi has dedicated himself to teaching young children about music.
He imparts his knowledge on playing instruments, producing music, and even creating their own beats. His passion for nurturing talent led him to train and guide the students of Ipolokeng Primary School. Together, they participated in the Motsepe Foundation SASCE competitions, where their hard work paid off, securing them the prestigious first position.
Reflecting on his achievements to Mapepeza, Tsietsi expressed his aspirations for the future.
“My goal is to push further and aim for nationals and have a concert before the year 2023 ends,” he shared enthusiastically. With his dedication and determination, there is no doubt that Tsietsi is poised to reach even greater heights in his musical journey.
SASCE, which stands for South African School Choral Eisteddfod, is an annual event that brings together talented school choirs from across the country to showcase their vocal abilities and compete for recognition.
