Car Accident in Duduza

A car accident occurred at the intersection between Namane and Motwana Street in Memeza section, around 6pm.

According to witnesses, the crash was caused by an Iveco mini bus that had been parked on the side of the road, obstructing incoming traffic.

The first vehicle involved was a BMW carrying two passengers: a male driver and a female passenger. The female passenger was so traumatised by the incident that she became hysterical. The second vehicle, a Mazda, was occupied by four people, including two infants: a three-month-old and a one-year-old.

During the collision, the three-month-old baby was thrown to the floor. JoinThe mother, attempting to protect the baby, suffered minor injuries to the head and leg. Meanwhile, the one-year-old child, who had a pre-existing diabetes condition, began struggling to breathe, and her heart rate became dangerously low.

The female driver of the Mazda expressed urgency, saying, “I have to rush home to administer insulin to my son. The police and ambulance will take too long to arrive.”

Luckily, Mr. Mavimbela, a metro police officer who happened to have been passing by, stopped to offer assistance. He asked if they needed help contacting the police and ambulance, but all parties declined his offer.

“I have no right to call for help if they refuse it,” he said.

The driver of the BMW explained that the car did not belong to him, and the female driver mentioned that her car’s licence disc was unpaid.

Both individuals chose to handle the situation themselves, refusing further assistance.
