Dipaleseng Municipality Warns Against Fraudsters Impersonating Officials
The Dipaleseng Local Municipality has issued a stern warning to residents and businesses following reports of a scam involving individuals posing as senior municipal officials.
According to a public notice released by the municipality, fraudsters have been impersonating the Municipal Manager and the Director of Infrastructure Services, soliciting money from unsuspecting people under the pretense of awarding them tenders.
Municipal Manager Mr. Lwazi Cindi cautioned that all legitimate procurement processes are governed by strict supply chain management policies and never involve any form of cash payment or personal favors.
“The Municipality wishes to emphasize that all official procurement processes are conducted strictly in accordance with approved supply chain management policies and do not, under any circumstances, involve the exchange of money or personal favors,” Cindi said.
Community members and business stakeholders are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.
The Municipality reiterated its commitment to transparency and ethical governance, assuring the public that fraudulent or corrupt activities will not be tolerated.
