Family fun weekend at the Rand Show

The Easter weekend break gets better every year as more and more people come to the annual Rand Show.

Families of all ages and coming from all over the country gathered at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec for South Africa’s oldest and most popular consumer show.

The event, which started from April 6 until the 10th has become a tradition for South Africans, holidaymakers and entertainment enthusiasts for many decades.

An exhibitor sells perfumes and other beauty products to a crowd gathered at his stand at the Rand Show.

Every year, the Johannesburg Expo Centre transforms into a paradise for kids and family fun, while opening up a big platform for businesses of all sizes to showcase their offerings to a large audience of consumers.

Rand show which started 128 years ago with only limited exhibitors has now grown to fill the Expo Center with over a thousand exhibitors, ranging from from small businesses all the way to the biggest brands in the world.

The memories made at the event are passed down from generation to generation.

A local artist who had a stall in the Small Business Hall, stated that he has received a great response in terms of visitors and he is earning a handsome of amount of money while selling his artwork.

“The Rand Show is not just for entertainment, but also for education and learning, said a retail worker along with her family members in the event. The visitors really enjoyed the the event and scenery, they are talking photos and letting their children roam free on the grounds,” said a mother.
