Local Students Shine in Innovation Challenge

In a display of remarkable talent and ingenuity, three local students have emerged as top performers in this year’s Innovation Challenge, representing Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and the University of Pretoria.

MacDonad Manyama from TUT clinched the top position, demonstrating exceptional innovative skills that caught the attention of judges and industry experts.

Close behind was Amogelang Nkonyane from the University of Pretoria, securing the second-place spot. Rounding out the top three was George Lebotse, another talented student from TUT.

“Seeing such impressive talent and creativity at this year’s Innovation Challenge has been inspiring,” said Ms. Anisha Dharunjajh, Group Head of City Strategy and Organisational Performance at the City of Tshwane’s Mayor’s office.

“These innovators are not only pushing the boundaries of what’s possible but also making a real difference in our country, communities, and even beyond.”

The event concluded with a vibrant celebration that provided participants and sponsors an opportunity to network and explore potential future collaborations.

Young innovators like Manyama, Nkonyane, and Lebotse are proving that the future of innovation in Tshwane is bright and promising.
