Parts of Benoni and Germiston water supply interrupted

The City of Ekurhuleni is attending to a water supply interruption affecting residents in Germiston due to a burst pipe today, 31 August.

The estimated restoration time is 20:00 today.

The affected areas include:

• Albemarle;
• Castleview;
• Dinwiddie;
• Lambton;
• Northern small farms;
• Roodekop Extension 31; and
• Wadeville.

Vlakfontein reservoir affects Benoni

Meanwhile the water level at Rand Water’s Vlakfontein reservoir supplying Benoni, Daveyton and Etwatwa is slowly recovering following a fault on the water supply network.

Technicians are closely monitoring the system, and the water supply to the affected areas will stabilise once the system fully recovers.

The affected areas include:

• Benoni AH;
• Chief Albert Luthuli;
• Cloverdene;
• Crystal Park;
• Daveyton;
• Etwatwa;
• Hillcrest;
• Mayfield; and
• Morehill.
