Police Investigate Inquest Case After Body Found in Ratanda

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Ratanda is investigating an inquest case after the body of an unidentified man was discovered in Ratanda.

According to police, officers responded to a complaint at around 13:20 on Wednesday and arrived at Portion 385/29, where community members directed them to the lifeless body of an African male in his early 30s. “The man was wearing blue denim shorts and a black tracksuit top, but no shoes,” explained police spokesperson Constable Moss Maluleke.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene and confirmed the man’s death. Police reported that the body showed no visible injuries.

Community members who had been passing by noticed the deceased and alerted the authorities. An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and assist with the case.
