Sbuda Deluxe Brings Hip Hop Energy to Kasie FM with Weekly Mix Show
Popular Ekurhuleni-based Kasie FM 97.1 has added a fresh voice to its morning lineup with the appointment of hometown DJ Sbuda Deluxe to the Asiye 6 to 9 Breakfast Show team.
The Heidelberg-born artist officially joined the station in January 2025, introducing his signature segment that’s already generating buzz among Hip Hop fans.
The #ThirstyThursdayBDayMix made its debut in January this year and has quickly established itself as a must-listen feature for the station’s early morning audience.
The half-hour show delivers a carefully curated blend of Hip Hop classics and contemporary hits, designed to energize listeners as they begin their day.
Airing from 06:30 AM to 07:00 AM on the first three Thursdays of each month, the mix showcases Sbuda Deluxe’s ability to bridge generations of Hip Hop culture through his selections.

Since launching his DJ career in 2020, Sbuda Deluxe (real name Sbusiso Zim) has built an impressive resume across South Africa’s music scene.
His performance credits include high-profile venues such as Bacardi Holiday Club, Mink Lounge in Soweto, Biblos Café in Katlehong, and Bahama Bar in Kwa Thema. He has also performed internationally at Ifs Lounge in Swaziland.
The DJ’s talent was recognized when he reached the finals of YFM’s competitive InTheRing DJ competition. His career has seen him share stages with some of South Africa’s most prominent artists, including Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Oscar Mbo, and Kelvin Momo.
His appointment to Kasie FM represents a significant milestone for local talent from Heidelberg, bringing regional representation to one of South Africa’s popular radio stations.
The move positions Sbuda Deluxe to reach a wider national audience while maintaining his connection to his hometown roots.
