Shoprite Launches New Clothing Brand, UNIQ

The Shoprite Group has announced the launch of its new clothing brand, UNIQ, which promises simplicity, comfort, superior fabrics, and value.

The first UNIQ store has opened in Cape Town’s Canal Walk shopping centre, with another eight stores scheduled to open in the next month.

The UNIQ range includes premium basics in a variety of colours and fabrics that are easy to mix and match, catering to the entire family.

The clothing is designed to last, pairing durable fabrics with stylish and versatile designs.

UNIQ has sourced materials that are specifically engineered for comfort and convenience.

It is the first local clothing retailer to introduce Supima cotton to the mass market.

This superior quality cotton is stronger, softer, and absorbs colour better, keeping clothing lustrous even after many washes.

The launch range includes an extensive collection of t-shirts, womenswear, modern menswear, kiddies’ basics, responsibly sourced down-filled puffer jackets, quality underwear for men and women, and more.

The prices are affordable, with t-shirts priced from R149 and leggings at R199 each.

In keeping with the Shoprite Group’s commitment to convenience through innovation, UNIQ is the first clothing retailer in South Africa to offer self-service checkout.

Smart tags and advanced radio-frequency identification (RFID) enable customers to easily scan and pay for items.

Customers will also be assisted on the sales floor by well-trained employees.

On average, nine new jobs will be created with the opening of every UNIQ store.

The new UNIQ stores are set to open in Ballito Junction Mall, Secunda Mall, Table Bay Mall, Mall@Reds Shopping Centre, The Grove Mall, Galleria Mall, Chartwell Corner, and Menlyn Park.

The UNIQ brand promises affordable, premium basics that are thoughtfully designed and made to last.

With the introduction of Supima cotton, UNIQ sets itself apart from other local clothing retailers.

The self-service checkout and the creation of new jobs show the Shoprite Group’s commitment to convenience and the South African economy.
