Teenage Girl, 17, Shot Dead in Katlehong

Police have launched a murder investigation after a 17-year-old girl was fatally shot in Katlehong on Monday afternoon, March 17.

Witnesses observed two armed suspects fleeing the scene in a charcoal Toyota Quest vehicle immediately following the shooting.

Police have not yet established a motive for the killing, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Gauteng Police spokesperson, Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi is urging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact their nearest police station. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the MySapsApp, which is available for download on all smartphone platforms.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members.
