Tragic Collision Leaves Three Dead and Four Injured

Three people have been declared deceased by paramedics after being involved in an accident on Tuesday, August 15 in Palm Ridge, south of Ekurhuleni.

A devastating collision between a bakkie and a truck resulted in the loss of three lives and left four individuals hospitalized in a grim accident that unfolded at the intersection of R550 and King Mohlala roads, adjacent to Sky City.

The incident, which occurred this morning at 08:47, shocked the local community.

Emergency responders from both Palm Ridge and Zonkizizwe Fire Stations were swiftly dispatched to the scene following the distress call.

According to William Ntladi, the spokesperson for the emergency services, upon arrival, the wreckage revealed a catastrophic T-bone collision between an Articulate super-link truck and a single cab bakkie.

Tragically, the impact claimed the lives of three occupants in the bakkie, consisting of two adult females and the male driver. Additionally, four other occupants sustained critical injuries in the collision.

Paramedics present at the scene worked diligently to provide medical assistance to the injured before they were transported to the nearest medical facility for further treatment. Miraculously, the crew members of the involved truck managed to escape the incident unscathed.

City’s traffic officers have taken up the case and initiated an inquest docket to ascertain the circumstances leading to the devastating crash.
