Update: Missing Katlehong Elderly Woman Safely Returns Home

Katlehong police have confirmed that Mrs Madeline Mosorokgi Tlou, the 70-year-old woman who was reported missing last Friday, has safely returned home.

Mrs Tlou, who resides in Khumalo Valley, was last seen on the morning of 18 July 2025. Her disappearance had raised concern in the community, especially since she was home alone while her grandchildren were away for the school holidays.

According to police spokesperson Constable Sivenkosi Mtwa, Mrs Tlou has returned home unharmed and in good health. She reportedly went to Pretoria to visit relatives without informing her family or neighbours.

“We are pleased to confirm that Mrs Tlou has been found safe. She went to visit some relatives in Pretoria and is now back with her family,” said Constable Mtwa.

The SAPS extended gratitude to members of the public who shared information and supported the search efforts.

“Thank you to all those who always work with us to locate the reported missing persons. Your commitment does not go unnoticed,” Constable Mtwa added.

The police also reminded the public that there is no waiting period to report a missing person, and urged families to communicate clearly, especially when elderly individuals are left alone.
