Water shortage addressed in parts of Ekurhuleni

The City of Ekurhuleni would like to let the residents of the areas affected by water outages in the past five days know that the problem has now been resolved.

Several parts of the City were left without water due to technical glitches at the Eskom substation that supplies power to Rand Water’s Mapleton Booster Station.

The power has since been restored and Rand Water is now pumping water at full capacity.

“The City apologises for the inconvenience and is working with its stakeholders to minimise these kinds of occurrences in the future,” said Ekurhuleni in a statement.

Areas that were affected by this outage now also include consumers in Clayville East, Clayville Industrial, Clayville extensions 71, 79, 80 and Winnie Mandela Zones 9, 10 and 12, Kwa-Thema, Selcourt Extension, Modder East (Eastvale), Dal Fouche, Presidents Dam, Rowhill, Petersfield, Geduld and extensions, Presidents Ranch and Strubenvale Extension 2 (Grootvlei Estates), New Era, Springs and extensions, Springs CBD; Welgedacht, Slovo Park, Bakerton and Payneville including Gugulethu-Everest informal settlement, Sallies Village, Brakpan North, Brenthurst, Vulcania, Tsakane, Geluksdal, Langaville, Labore, Duduza, Masetjhaba View, Bluegumview, John Dube Village, Dalpark, Daveyton, Etwatwa and Benoni Agricultural Holdings.

Mayfield, Etwatwa and Daveyton

Ten roving water tankers are at:

● Mayfield village

● Barcelona Extension 26

● Bester

● Etwatwa West

● Zenzele

● Mogoba extensions 34, 37

● Etwatwa extensions 36

● Mandela extensions 24

● Etwatwa extensions 19 , 18 ,12, 10

● Citicon

● Sgodi

● Sotho, Swazi, EmaXhoseni and EmaShanganeni sections

● Daveyton Extension 2

● Mina Nawe Extensions 5, 7, 8, 9 and 6

Tsakane

Nine water tankers are at:

● Tsakane between Extension 13 and 8

● Rockville

● Pholosong Hospital

● Tsakane Malandela and Ndabezitha

● Langaville Extension 8 Gauteng street

● Tsakane next to Chillas

● Langaville Extension 3

Duduza

Three roving water tankers are sent to Cool Breeze, Masechaba (Ebafaneni), Bluegumview next to the Sasol garage and Asser Maloka Secondary School.

Kwa-Thema

One water tanker is stationed at the Kwa-Thema Civic Centre and another roving in Mthembu Village/Thembelisha, Rest-in-Peace, Vergenoeg and Savemore Supermarket in Maryvlei.

Brakpan

One roving water tanker for Caltex in Brenthurst, Brakpan North Pick ’n Pay and Sallies Village.

Springs

● One roving water tanker in Persida, and will also service Slovo Park Clinic

● One water tanker at Payneville Clinic

● One roving water tanker for Springs extension and Springs Clinic

● One tanker for N17 Hospital.

  • Hi there the guy driving the water truck in Persida springs tell my mom she got water once she cant get more water, what rubbish is this now rhe previous driver whas vere help full now this one got a attitude we are old disable people we dont need shit like this at 10ferreira avenue persida springs
