Royal Heritage Day Celebration to Close Out Heritage Month
As Heritage Month nears its conclusion, the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture, and Recreation, in collaboration with the City of Ekurhuleni and the Zulu Royal House, is gearing up to host the Royal Heritage Day celebrations on Saturday, 30 September 2023.
This grand event will take place at Huntersfield Stadium in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, and will feature a special address by the Zulu Monarch, His Majesty, King Misuzulu KaZwelithini.
Under the theme “Celebrating our cultural diversity in a democratic South Africa,” the Royal Heritage Day event is a fitting way to bid farewell to Heritage Month.
The primary objective of this celebration is to spotlight South Africa’s rich and diverse indigenous culture, music, and dance. Additionally, the event aims to honor the pivotal role played by Traditional institutions in preserving and promoting cultural diversity, social cohesion, reconciliation, peace, and economic development.
Over 10,000 attendees, including members of Royal families, will come together to partake in this cultural extravaganza and celebrate the abundant heritage of Gauteng.
