EMPD arrest drug dealers in Katlehong
Three suspects, including one female, were arrested by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police on Saturday, June 5. The arrests were made during an anti-drug operation in the Katlehong township, south of the City.
The first arrest was made at the Mavimbela section, where a 42-year old man was found idling on Manana street.
Police were suspicious so he was approached and frisked. Officers uncovered 10 zip-locks bags and 128grams of loose dagga in a plastic bag, valued at R2560 and R60 in cash.
The suspect was handcuffed thereafter.

Dealing couple nabbed
The subsequent arrest was made at the Kwanele section.
The couple, a man and woman (aged 38 and 56), were stopped, searched and apprehended.
The EMPD officers uncovered 20 ziplocks of khat, eight ziplocks of crystal meth valued at R6400 and R250 cash, following body searches.
“The trio facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance, were marched to Katlehong police station. The arrested threesome, are expected to appear, in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon,” said spokesperson Officer Kobeli Mokheseng.
