Energy Plan to deal with loadshedding

The National Energy Crisis Committee (NECOM) has released a report on what they have done to solve the country’s power crisis and reduce the amount of load shedding.

The report includes plans to buy power from companies who can generate it and to make it easier for new energy projects to start.

“The first contracts are expected to be signed in the coming weeks,” the NECOM said.

The report also says that the government will make it easier for energy projects to be approved and will try to get more power from other countries.

The NECOM was created to make sure that the government’s plan to solve the energy crisis is happening quickly.

President Ramaphosa announced plans last year to improve the power stations we already have and to build new ones.

Some of the things that have been done to make this happen include removing the need for certain licenses for energy projects, which will make it easier for private companies to invest in them.

“The pipeline of private sector projects has grown to more than 100 projects with over 9 000 MW of capacity. The first of these large-scale projects is expected to connect to the grid by the end of this year,” NECOM said.

The NECOM also instructed government departments to make it easier for energy projects to be approved and to make sure that it happens quickly.

They have also agreed to build new renewable energy projects that will generate 2,800MW of power.

The NECOM says that the energy crisis is happening because not enough money was spent on maintaining power stations and because some of the newer power stations were not built well.

“The declining energy availability factor of Eskom’s fleet reflects the cumulative impact of historical underinvestment in maintenance and assets, exacerbated by flaws in the design of new power stations in the last decade,” the NECOM said.

The NECOM’s report shows that the government is taking steps to improve the energy situation in the country. The President has also talked to different groups and leaders to make sure that everyone is working together to solve the problem.
