Heidelberg SAPS and Community Join Hands in Clean-Up Drive

The Heidelberg Police Station received a much-needed facelift this week as the officers together with community organisation Heidelberg HOPE, rolled up their sleeves for a clean-up campaign.

The initiative, led by the station commander Colonel Selota, aimed to restore neglected areas of the station and create a welcoming environment for both staff and community members.

With manpower, tools and vehicles provided by Heidelberg HOPE, SAPS members worked side by side with volunteers to ensure the station was spotless. The collaborative effort saw teams clear dirt, trim overgrown areas, and tidy up facilities that had been left unattended for some time.

The station management expressed deep appreciation for the partnership.

“We are grateful to Heidelberg HOPE for their commitment and hard work. Their contribution has made a visible difference to our workplace,” said Lt Col Dlamini, speaking on behalf of Colonel Selota. “Thumbs up to Heidelberg HOPE for supporting us in making the station clean and appealing to our clients and the community.”

The campaign not only improved the physical environment of the Heidelberg SAPS but also strengthened ties between law enforcement and the community.

Both SAPS and Heidelberg HOPE emphasised that maintaining a clean and welcoming police station plays an important role in building trust and improving service delivery.
