Pastor Mboro’s Church Set Alight in Katlehong
Tensions mounted in Katlehong on Tuesday (August 6) as furious residents, mostly school children, set ablaze a church belonging to Paseka “Pastor Mboro” Motsoeneng.
The recent development follows a viral video in which men are seen brandishing replica firearms and a panga, intimidating and harassing learners and teachers.
The giant tent church, affectionately known as Incredible Happenings, was allegedly looted shortly before it was set alight.
Police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza confirmed the incident and stated that the replica firearm and the pangas have since been confiscated.
Following the incident, City of Ekurhuleni MMC for Community Safety MMC Masuku made a peroneal visit with Ekurhuleni Metro officials. She condemned the acts of arson and said the matter will be investigated.
