Rain warning for Gauteng, Mpumalanga
Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces are expected to experience severe rainy weather conditions on Thursday, February 9, according to a weather forecast issued by the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
In Gauteng, the weather is expected to be cloudy and cool to warm with widespread showers and thundershowers.
The forecast also includes a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, heavy downpours and excessive lightning, which could result in localised flooding of susceptible areas, localised damage of property and disruptions to communication and municipality services.
In Mpumalanga, the weather is expected to be cloudy and cool to warm with widespread showers and thundershowers.
The expected UVB sunburn index is high.
Residents of both Gauteng and Mpumalanga are advised to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to stay safe.
