SASSA Gold Card Users to Receive Final Grant Payment in March

Social grant beneficiaries still using SASSA gold cards will receive their March 2025 payments as scheduled, according to a joint announcement from SASSA and Postbank.

The March payment will be the final grant accessible through gold cards. After March 20, 2025, all future grant payments will require the new Postbank black card.

“Beneficiaries must make efforts to replace their cards,” said Themba Matlou, SASSA Acting CEO.

SASSA and Postbank assure that all eligible beneficiaries will receive their grants regardless of card status, but urge gold card holders to transition to the black card system immediately.

To locate the nearest card issuing outlet, beneficiaries can dial *120* 355# on their phone.
