Yenza Opens Its First Store in Newtown

South African shoe company Yenza has launched its inaugural pop-up store at Newton Junction Mall in Johannesburg, marked by a simple ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 14.

Rather than emphasizing grandeur, the new Yenza store reflects the brand’s ethos of innovation, showcasing a diverse array of footwear while embodying its commitment to style and individual expression.

As the store doors swung open, customers flooded in, greeted warmly by Yenza’s representatives in a modest welcome to their first physical space.

Previously, the sneaker brand has also seen major success partnering with the Rand Show, one of the country’s biggest trade expo.

Originally an online venture founded in 2021, Yenza has now ventured into brick-and-mortar retail, a move hailed by its marketing manager, Mphumulelo Masango, as an exciting milestone.

“Yenza was born from a desire to empower the youth, and the community’s response has exceeded our expectations,” Masango commented, noting that the store’s opening has also generated employment opportunities.

Situated adjacent to the gaming outlet in Newtown Junction Mall, Yenza’s pop-up store aims to cater to sneaker enthusiasts and fashion-forward shoppers alike, offering an extensive selection of footwear.

Operating hours for the pop-up store are from 9 am to 6:30 pm, seven days a week, providing ample opportunity for exploration and discovery.
