BOSA, GOOD and RISE Mzansi join hands to take on the big guns
Build One South Africa (BOSA), GOOD and Rise Mzansi have merged to form Unite for change, ahead of next year’s local government elections.
The merger, announced on Sunday, October 5, will see the “Unite for Change” campaign under one shared banner.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by all three founding parties states that the National Executive Committee will adopt a candidate selection model that prioritises merit-based selections in respect of all candidate lists.
The political parties will be registered with the Electoral Commission (IEC) and all current and future parties that join will run for election under the new name and banner.
The council includes Mmusi Maimane, Patricia de Lille, Songezo Zibi, Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster, Brett Herron, and Vuyiswa Ramokgopa.
Current councillors, MPs and MPLs will continue to serve under existing party brands, as they were elected to do.
They also pledged to build a credible alternative focused on ethical leadership, service delivery, and community empowerment.
Unite for Change positions itself as a centrist, reform-driven movement aimed at offering voters an alternative to the dominance of major parties, while promoting collaboration over individual power.
The parties have also invited prospective councillor candidates, especially new ones, to step forward and join the movement.
