Postbank introduces new way to pay SASSA grants
Have you been wondering how you will receive your grant as your SASSA Gold Card have expired or is soon to expire?
If you take Yes a for an answer, then stop paniking as Postbank has launched new method of paying SASSA grants that does not require a physical card.
Grant beneficiaries whose SASSA cards have expired or are soon to expire, no longer need to go to the Post Office branches to collect new cards as they can be paid without their cards at participating retailers like Shoprite, Usave, Boxer, Pickn Pay and OK.
No need to pre- register for this new payment method and here is to how to get paid without a card at the above mentioned participating outlets:
- Take along with your cellphone, ID document, and SASSA/Postbank Pin.
- Go to the point and provide all your ID, Cellphone number to verify your identity as a registered grant recipient.
- You will receive a confirmation message on your phone.
- Enter your SASSA/Post bank Gold Card Pin.
- The cashier will give you the requested amount.
In a press statement, Postbank Spokeperson, Bongani Dlako notes that this new payment method will be available to those who who haven’t yet collected their new cards due the expiry date of SASSA Gold Card and those that simple want to collect their grants without their cards.
“lt will be rolled out to retailers for the next month end payments that start in the first week of May 2023.No need to register for this new payment method” Bongani states, mentioning that Postbank cardless will help to reduce the queues for card replacements at Post office branches as there is no longer no need to collect cards to be paid.
