Rensburg Forum call for support to create local safe house

The organisations are calling on members of the community to donate building materials, paint, doors, locks, shelving, ceiling boards, light fittings, window fittings, curtain rails and other renovation supplies.

Rensburg Forum has appealed to residents, businesses and contractors to support a community initiative aimed at transforming a property in Rensburg into a safe haven for vulnerable babies, children and women.

The organisation is partnering with Eden Angels NPC to renovate premises at 34 Romyn Street, Rensburg, into a place of safety that will provide protection, care and support to those in need.

According to Rensburg Forum, the project is about more than renovating a building.

“As Rensburg Forum, we understand how important it is to have a safe place where vulnerable people can receive protection, care and support. This initiative is not just about renovating a building — it’s about giving people hope, protecting our most vulnerable, and building a stronger Rensburg together,” the forum said.

The organisations are calling on members of the community to donate building materials, paint, doors, locks, shelving, ceiling boards, light fittings, window fittings, curtain rails and other renovation supplies. Financial contributions and volunteers willing to assist with painting, repairs and general renovation work are also being sought.

Rensburg Forum said every contribution, no matter how small, would help create a safe and welcoming environment for people facing difficult circumstances.

“No contribution is too small. Whether you can donate materials, contribute financially or simply give a few hours of your time, your support can help create a safer future for someone in need,” the organisation said.

Financial donations can be made to Rensburg Forum NPC through its FNB Gold Business Account using the reference “EDEN ANGELS” to ensure funds are allocated to the project.

The forum has encouraged local businesses, contractors, suppliers and residents to work together to make the initiative a success.

“We call on the Rensburg community, local businesses, contractors and suppliers to stand together with us. Imagine knowing that a baby, a child or a woman in a vulnerable situation has somewhere safe to turn to right here in our community. That is what we are working towards,” Rensburg Forum said.

Residents who wish to contribute or volunteer can contact Rensburg Forum on 076 052 1300 or Eden Angels NPC on 061 407 0130 for more information.
