The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the official social grant payment dates for June 2026, giving beneficiaries clarity on when they can expect their monthly payments.
According to the payment schedule, Older Persons Grants will be paid on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, while Disability Grants will follow on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. Childrenโs Grants, including the Child Support Grant, will be paid on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
SASSA said the staggered payment system remains in place to reduce pressure at pay points, ATMs and retail stores, while also ensuring smoother access to funds for beneficiaries nationwide.
The agency reminded beneficiaries that there is no need to withdraw all their money on the first payment day, as funds will remain safely available in their accounts.
The agency also confirmed that grant amounts increased from April 2026 following the national budget announcement.
Older Persons Grants, Disability Grants and Care Dependency Grants increased by R80 to R2 400, while the War Veterans Grant increased to R2 420. The Foster Child Grant rose to R1 290, and the Child Support Grant and Grant-in-Aid increased to R580.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to ensure that their banking details are correct and up to date to avoid payment delays.
SASSA further advised grant recipients experiencing problems with their payments to visit their nearest SASSA office for assistance.
The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring that social grants are paid on time to millions of vulnerable South Africans who depend on the support each month.
