The White Star Miss Soweto 2026 competition has reached another milestone following the official unveiling of its Top 20 finalists at Falcon Arrow Spur in Southgate, recently.
The event provided the 20 young women with an opportunity to share their personal stories, aspirations and what participating in the prestigious pageant means to them.
Beyond the pursuit of the crown, this year’s competition aims to empower young women by creating opportunities for personal development, confidence-building and leadership, while encouraging them to become positive role models within their communities.
For Soweto residents, the competition represents more than a beauty pageant, offering a platform for young women from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences, pursue their ambitions and inspire others.
Jonita Cuff, Marketing Manager for White Star, said the competition was about creating opportunities for young women to discover their potential and develop their voices.
“Every finalist has a story that brought her to this point, and we looked forward to seeing those stories unfold. Miss Soweto is about more than the crown; it is about creating opportunities for young women to grow, find their voices and recognise their potential,” said Cuff.
Following the Top 20 announcement, the finalists will participate in a series of intensive workshops and activities in preparation for the grand finale. The programme will focus on personal empowerment, community impact and essential life skills to equip the contestants for leadership and meaningful involvement in their communities.
The initiative also seeks to continue the legacy of previous Miss Soweto titleholders who have gone on to establish themselves as influential leaders and entrepreneurs.
As the finalists prepare for the next stage of the competition, attention is turning to the grand finale scheduled for 28 November 2026, when one contestant will be crowned the next Miss Soweto.
The journey ahead will give the finalists an opportunity to demonstrate not only their individual strengths and ambitions but also their commitment to making a positive difference in their communities.
